FORMATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY
Kyzylorda Bolashak University was opened in 1995 as the Kyzylorda branch of the Moscow International University of Business and Information Technology. In 1999, the branch was transformed into an independent higher educational institution–Kyzylorda University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics. The university started its work in accordance with the state license for secondary, higher, postgraduate and additional education programs. In the same year, the Kyzylorda branch of the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University was opened on the basis of the university. The university operated 1 faculty and 3 departments. 2001, the university was transformed into Bolashak University, and a college was opened under it. In 2013, the Bolashak Medical College received a license and started working.
In 2017, the construction of a campus that meets modern requirements began. The campus includes a 14-storey main educational and administrative building with an area of 21,000 square meters, a dining room with 300 seats, a library reading room with 200 seats, a fitness center, an atrium hall with 500 seats for cultural and educational events, 2 dormitories with 800 seats, 2 winter gardens, 4 central greenhouse complexes of 8 blocks (territory of 1 ha).
The Bolashak Research Institute, the Scientific Research Institute of Ecology and Bioresources of the Aral-Syrdarya Basin, and the Aral branch of the Scientific Research Institute of Ecology and Bioresources of the Aral-Syrdarya Basin operate to carry out scientific research. The University carries out 3 fundamental and 10 initiative studies at its own expense. The results of research and methodological work are published in the journal Bulletin of Bolashak University. According to the results of research work, leading scientists of the university have received 6 patents for inventions and 12 copyright certificates.
In 2005, the University was awarded the gold medal of the International Foundation «For High quality of business practice», in 2006 the gold medal «For impeccable business reputation» in the development of the Kazakh-Swiss Business Club. The University also became the winner of the trade and production rating in 2014, the winner of the Geneva Prize of the European Golden Sign «For Quality and trade reputation» in 2014. In the 2019-2020 academic year, Bolashak University took 8th place in the National Business Ranking. According to the results of the National Business Rating among enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bolashak University received the title of «Industry Leader-2019».
According to the results of the National Demand Rating of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan-2021, conducted by the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency, Bolashak University was among the top 20 universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2023, Bolashak University passed the institutional accreditation. Today, the university has 2 higher schools and 8 departments. Personnel are being trained in 39 bachelor's degree programs (20 directions), 6 master's degree programs (6 directions).
There are currently 4,388 students studying at the university. Lectures are conducted by the teaching staff, consisting of 16 doctors of sciences, 98 candidates of sciences, 11 doctors of philosophy. Among them are 1 Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 4 honorary workers of education, 2 members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1 Honorary Journalist of Kazakhstan, 4 holders of the badge «Y.Altynsarin», 2 holders of the badge «For services to the development of science», 5 holders of the badge «Yeren enbegi ushin».
The educational institution was headed by: Kaliev Bakhyt Kalievich (1995-1997).,1999-2000); Eleusinov Bauyrzhan Tazhmaganbetovich (1999-2008); Zhunusov Abaybek Talgatovich (2008-2010); Umbetov Omirbek Umbetovich (2010-2013, 2016-2018); Makhmutov Bolat Bizhanovich (2013-2014); Kalenov Galymzhan Kendebayevich (2014), Daurenbekov Kuanysh Koishygulovich (2019-2021); Kairat Bakbergen (2022-2024); since February 2024, Dosmanbetov has been headed by Dinar Bakbergenovich.
